Seeing beyond...

The Giver is going to do a test to see how Jonas is starting to 'see beyond', but what might that mean?  What is this 'seeing beyond' thing, do you think?

    I think seeing beyond is seeing what's REALLY going on everywhere, because what people THINK is happening is not necessarily what's ACTUALLY happening.

    I think seeing beyond might be seeing the future. Apart from that I also have no idea.
