I think his parents must be proud that he was selected for a special job but also disappointed that he is not going to be normal and worried that it might reflect on them badly. Or maybe reflect on them in a good way?
I think Jonas will be a person who gets or knows memories of other people. Jonas seems to be worried/unsure of what was happening and doesn't want to be in that position. His parents are probably shocked that Jonas is a reciever of memory. Can't wait to hear more.

I think Jonas will be some type of history recorder or maybe a person who receives 'important' memories. Yes, i also think that Jonas parents felt worried and happy (scenes he got chosen to be something, instead of being nothing) i'm very excited to read whats gonna happen next
Maybe it's the person who knows about the community,maybe it's the person who knows what goes on behind release and knows the meaning to words that the community does not know the meaning of?

I think that Jonas might end up as a mind reader, or something totally different. I think he's shocked about just being a "Receiver of memory".
